Sharon Balaban
Sharon directs the Morton H. Meyerson Family Tzedakah Fund. Before this role she spent nine years at the Jewish Community Center of Dallas, eight years as senior adult director and one year as Jewish education director. Prior to that she spent five years as a development associate for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
In her earlier career, Sharon served as a social worker, counselor and program coordinator for various organizations. She moved to Israel in 1984 and lived there for six years, working for Young Judaea and the Jewish Agency for Israel in Jerusalem, and later for the Herzliya Medical Center in Herzliya Pituach. She also studied for one year at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and is fluent in Hebrew. Sharon earned her bachelor’s of social work from the University of Texas at Austin.
