  • American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee

    The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Inc. serves Jewish people throughout the world, particularly where their lives are threatened or made difficult. The organization also sponsors programs of relief, rescue and renewal for all people.

  • Amutah Lasovah

    Amuta LaSova reaches out to thousands of Israel’s needy through homeless shelters, after-school care centers, programs assisting people with alcohol and drug addictions and soup kitchens that serve more than 1,500 meals daily.

  • Bet Hayeled

    Bet Hayeled is a group home serving orphaned and abused children needing to rebuild their lives in a warm, nurturing community. The organization’s commitment continues as the children approach university education, national service or other adult opportunities.

  • Booker T Washington

    Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts is solely dedicated to the mission of educating gifted artists who share both the potential and the aspiration for a career of excellence in the arts.

  • Dallas Symphony Orchestra

    The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, one of the world’s great symphony orchestras, focuses its efforts on entertaining and inspiring audiences - and changing lives - by exposing the world to the beauty of classical music.

  • Donorschoose

    DonorsChoose.org addresses the unequal distribution of materials and experiences in public schools and is working to improve education with an online marketplace where teachers describe classroom needs and members of the community fulfill them.

  • Southwestern Medical Center

    UT Southwestern Medical Center is one of the country’s leading academic medical centers, patient-care providers and research institutions working with both future and current healthcare professionals.

  • The Stewpot.Gif

    The Stewpot unites 27 partner organizations serving individuals facing poverty and homelessness. Programs include drug and alcohol counseling, casework assistance, medical care, educational activities, employment aid, meals and much more.

  • The Wilkinson Center

    The Wilkinson Center helps people in need realize their potential, sustain themselves with dignity and escape the cycle of poverty. Services include a food pantry, employment counseling, drug education, after-school programs and more.

  • American Jewish World Service

    American Jewish World Service (AJWS) is an international development organization motivated by Judaism’s imperative to pursue justice. AJWS is dedicated to alleviating poverty, hunger and disease among people of the developing world regardless of race, religion or nationality.

  • The Turner Twelve

    The Turner Twelve encourages and empowers inner city youth to become first generation college attendees, leaders and role models within their community. Turner Twelve equips students with skills, knowledge and support needed to stay in school, graduate and obtain admission into college.

  • Greene

    Greene Family Camp (GFC) serves Reform congregations in Texas and Oklahoma, providing a religious, cultural, recreational, and emotional experience for people of all ages. Greene places a strong emphasis on personal growth and positive self-image. “Campership” funding is available.

  • Fine Arts

    College of Fine Arts The College of Fine Arts at the University of Texas at Austin prepares students for the creation, practice, study, criticism and teaching of the arts, in a context that emphasizes cultural diversity, community engagement and technological innovation.

  • Liberal Arts

    College of Liberal Arts The mission of the College of Liberal Arts is to make a free people wise, by educating its students in the ways of freedom, and by providing a model for education at other universities.

According to Jewish tradition, Tzedakah is righteous giving required of every Jew. The David Nathan Meyerson Foundation is the primary philanthropic vehicle for the Morton H. Meyerson family. The foundation focuses on:

  • Providing assistance in Texas, New York, and Israel to enable people to take control of their lives and live with dignity.
  • Funding medical research focused on depression and bipolar disorder.
  • Assisting humanities programs and the Arts.

The foundation primarily supports small non-profit organizations with low administrative expenses and leaders who are passionate, competent and kind.

The David Nathan Meyerson Foundation does not accept unsolicited grant requests.
